Colorado Springs
Basics: During the summer months, Colorado Springs can be very dry. Be sure to follow the rules regarding grilling and only use designated grilling areas.
Kosher Food: For kosher food, we brought along frozen milk, hot dogs, hamburgers, and buns. The rest of our food we purchased at the local Walmart.
For Shabbos, we ordered from Greenfelds at Shabbosonthego.com. Their site is very user-friendly, allowing you to customize your meal to suit your family's needs and tastes. The box was overnighted, and the food arrived fresh and well-wrapped.
Denver has several kosher options, but we chose to have our food delivered so we wouldn’t have to stop in the city on our way to our hotel.
We also enjoyed a delicious milchig lunch at Brooklyn Pizza in Denver before our return trip on Sunday.
Weather: The weather in Colorado Springs is a bit cooler than in New York; however, the sun can be very strong due to the elevation. Be sure to bring plenty of sunscreen, as you'll need to apply it frequently. A light sweater will suffice for the evenings.
Hotels and Attractions: We had no trouble booking hotels, and the attractions managed the crowds well. No prior reservations were needed.
