Basics: Expect spotty cell service in more remote areas. It’s best to download maps or activity guides in advance to avoid any connectivity issues.

Minyanim: There are many minyanim in the Hunter region throughout the summer months. The local shuls are open, and there are also some summer camps and unofficial minyanim in hotels around the area.

Tannersville: Anshe Sharon, Kibbutz Bnai Hayeshivos, White Shul, and Boston Shul.
Kosher Food: Country K, located in Tannersville, is a kosher supermarket open throughout the summer, and has a kosher pizza store as well as takeout options. Additionally, kosher products are available at the local Price Chopper, Tops, Hannaford, and Walmart.
Weather: The weather in Hunter is typically cooler than in NYC. Even in the summer, evenings can be chilly, so it’s a good idea to bring a sweater or light jacket.

Hotels & Attractions: Melour Resort, a kosher-owned and operated hotel in Tannersville, is open year-round and is known for its excellent service and food.
There are many hotels, B&Bs, and cottages for rent in and around the Hunter area. Keep in mind that during the Bein Hazmanim season, these can fill up quickly.
The attractions in Hunter and Tannersville are large enough to accommodate crowds without feeling overcrowded. We’ve never had to book attractions in advance.
