Day 1: Wednesday
We took the Heavenly Mountain Gondola to the mountain peak, making stops at both the observation point and peak. The first stop featured magnificent views of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding mountains. At the second stop, the peak, we enjoyed various activities, including a rock wall, summer tubing, panning for gemstones, zip lines, and hiking trails to explore more of the mountain.

After descending, we drove to El Dorado Beach for a picnic lunch and some beach time. We had a blast splashing in the cool water! There are numerous beaches around Lake Tahoe, and you can usually find a quiet spot for your family at any of the local beaches.

Day 2: Thursday
We started the day by enjoying our hotel’s pool before heading to the most well-known beach in Lake Tahoe—Sand Harbor Beach. There is a $10 entry fee, payable in cash only. An ATM is located in a nearby hotel/casino lobby, about five minutes away.

The beach is absolutely stunning, but it can get very crowded in the summer. We discovered a secluded cove that was completely empty, allowing us to enjoy our own little private beach. The large boulders scattered around the water provided privacy, making it feel like our own hidden gem. We had so much fun swimming, playing in the sand, and climbing the boulders.
Later, we drove back to our hotel area for our sunset boat tour. There are many boating companies operating in the area, and we chose one that fit our budget and the trip length we wanted. It gets quite chilly in the evenings, especially on the water, so be sure to bring some sweatshirts. Our boat also provided blankets.
Day 3: Friday
We began the day by renting a family bike to ride along the water, but we had to cut our ride short when it started pouring about 30 minutes in.

With the rain, we needed to find an indoor activity for the kids. Surprisingly, Lake Tahoe doesn’t offer much in terms of indoor entertainment. We ended up at an arcade in a local casino, where we spent some time before heading back to get ready for Shabbos.
Day 4: Shabbos
It was still quite rainy, so we entertained ourselves with toys we had brought along, as well as the hotel’s large chess set and foosball table.
Motzei Shabbos, we enjoyed a few rounds at the local bowling alley.
Day 5: Sunday
Sunday was overcast and chilly. We headed to Inspiration Point, overlooking Emerald Bay. Even with the clouds, we enjoyed beautiful views of Lake Tahoe and its surrounding mountains.

Next, we visited Lower Eagle Falls, which was nearby. The drive to the falls was narrow and winding, but the sight was breathtaking—especially after all the rain over the weekend.

Finally, we headed back to Reno for our flight home.
