Day 1:
On our way up north, we made a stop at Watkins Glen. We enjoyed a beautiful walk along the canyon edge, taking in the magnificent foliage and waterfalls. It was amazing to walk right behind a waterfall and barely get wet!

Most of the walkway was stroller-accessible; however, some sections were quite narrow. Near the end, we parked our stroller to continue on foot, holding our toddler’s hand. A backpack carrier for a baby would be advisable, as it’s easier to navigate than a stroller in the narrow sections.
After a nice picnic lunch at the playground, we headed back to our car to continue our journey toward Letchworth.
We arrived at Letchworth just in time for sunset and enjoyed breathtaking views of the Upper Falls, framed by a pink-hued sky.

Day 2:
After a hearty breakfast, we set out to explore all that Letchworth has to offer.
We started the day at a beautiful playground across from Eddy’s Overlook. After some fun running around, we walked over to the overlook to take in the magnificent views below.

Next, we visited the Great Bend Overlook, where we saw the roaring Genesee River winding through the stunning canyon scenery.

From there, we embarked on an easy, kid-friendly hike through the woods. The trail featured bridges crossing over mini waterfalls and brooks, with gorgeous canyon views along the way. The kids loved running ahead of us, collecting colorful leaves, and searching for the perfect hiking sticks. Once we found them, we were truly set! After completing the loop, we headed to the other side of the park for a scenic picnic lunch, surrounded by vibrant fall foliage.
Our next stop was the Lower Falls viewpoint. It was a short uphill hike, with an option to go down to the falls. However, other visitors warned us that the descent was steep and slippery, making it challenging for little ones.

After enjoying another fantastic playground, we made our way to Inspiration Point, a stunning lookout near the visitor center, where we took in the breathtaking sunset views.

Day 3:
We began the day with one final visit to Letchworth. We took a quick and easy downhill walk from the Upper Falls to the Middle Falls. As we got closer, we spotted a few rainbows in the mist and enjoyed the refreshing cool spray on our faces.

From there, we started our journey back south toward home. Along the way, we stopped at Russell Farms in Pennsylvania.
We had a fantastic time apple picking and came home with enough apples to last us the entire winter! The kids loved exploring the old farming machinery, and our son even got to "ride" on some of it. They also had a blast in a huge corn pit with slides and farm trucks inside, petting the farm animals, and jumping on a giant bounce pillow and inflatable house. The farm also offered hayrides and a corn maze for even more fun.

After a long and enjoyable break, we got back on the road for the final stretch home.
Note: If you're planning a trip to Letchworth during the summer months, the park also offers biking, rafting, and boating options nearby. Additionally, hot air balloon rides are available twice a day, though they can be quite pricey.
